Dear Daughter,

girl-923331

In life we can get distracted, we can easily move away from the path. We don’t even realize we got off the path until we stop and look around. Our soul aches, our heart doesn’t beat like it used to. We feel lost. You even get to the point where you look in the mirror and don’t know who you are anymore. Many questions are circling your mind like hawks circle their prey. You want the pain to go away. You want a quick and magical fix to this. A magical bandage you could all it. You tend to look elsewhere; shopping, social media, friends, love, television, alcohol, and so on. They are fixes for the moments until you get alone.

Sigh.

Alone.

As you lay down to sleep and you can’t shut off your mind. When you feel like things are being ripped away from you. You are losing friendships. You are losing that boy you really love. You are alone. No one understands. No one could possibly understand what you are feeling, what you are thinking.

Can I just stop you for a moment? Sweet daughter, that is a lie. When you start to believe no one else has been through what you have been through. The enemy is trying to isolate you. Pull you away from God. Pulling you away from feeling loved. Pulling you, away, alone, and feeding you these lies. Don’t accept these lies. Kick them to the curb.

Let me tell you, we are called to be a direct reflection of God’s love, His mercy, and His grace. However, sometimes it gets distorted with life and what we surround ourselves with. Similar to the reflection off the water gets distorted when there is wind, rain, a dragonfly flying close to the water, and so on.

Whether you haven’t ever accepted Jesus into your life or you always pushed him away because how could He love you if everyone keeps leaving you. My heart aches for you, it aches for what you are going through, what you are feeling. I have been there. You can learn something from the landmines I went through. You can feel the love that was given to you before you knit together in your mother’s womb. Let’s pray together. You can say it in your own words or the one that is written below.

Father God,

I don’t have the fancy words, but I know I don’t need them to be accepted by you. I don’t need to have it all together. I just need you. My broken heart is yours. My fears, I ask you to take away. I ask that you put my heart back together. I don’t need anything else. Jesus, you are my one desire and I want to live my life for you, not for anyone else. You are it for me. I put my life in your hands, where it always belonged. As it says in the Bible, in your Word (Romans 10:13) For everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. Lord, please forgive for the sins. Please lead me to where you have called me. I am forever yours. For now and forever. I love you. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen

As you move forward, don’t fall back into old traps. You will still fall, I still do now. However, it is how you pull yourself back up and what you lean on. Do you lean onto earthly things or you do lean on God?

When you get hurt, you might feel like you want to go and hurt those that hurt you. Not physically, but emotionally, verbally. You want them to feel the pain you felt. However, that is not what the Bible calls us to do. 1 John 4:7-8 ESV Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Also, look at that same passage in The Message Bible, 1 John 4:7-10 My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love- so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about- not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.

I have been hurt before and I am still learning that it isn’t even about the people that are hurting us. I am 30 (whew, when did that happen?) but I am still learning this. It is a spiritual battle. The enemy uses people to hurt us. Ephesians 6:12 ESV For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. That right there is a whole other post that I will cover.

Following God isn’t going to be easy. However it is something that you can lean on. When everything around you doesn’t make sense. You can trust in the Word because it never changes. It is living, breathing, God speaking to you. You just have to open it. Pray over it before you open it, pray as you read it, and pray when you finish it. You don’t need to have fancy words, you just need to have an open heart.

Sweet daughter, I just want you to know, you are not alone. You are loved. You are loved by our Heavenly creator, by our Heavenly Father. As you move forward, dig in the Bible. Don’t lose your focus. I challenge you to grab your Bible or look it up on a Bible App on your phone, look up those verses I put in this post. I am praying over you sweet girl.
