Every now and then we all need a gentle reminder, something we already know, but somehow have pushed aside. Everyday life can get in the way, only the problems that seem to be thrown at us, and our emotions. It’s the things that can draw us away from what matters most, though God will send you reminders. Sometimes we are too blinded that we don’t see it or hear it.
For me, in this season in my life. I began reading Proverbs and a couple of verses stuck out to me. More like taking my breath away. I knew this already but this time, it clicked. Since then, I have heard so many people use it, to someone on snap chat; having her daughter recite it, or our Pastor at Church using it, I see it through Facebook. Really the list goes on and on; and I am in awe.
I believe sometimes we forget that God really does care, that He really does think of us all the time, and our problems are His problems. He wants us to stay in His word, because when we do; we stay near to Him. We find what He has been trying to tell us for a while now.
Before opening His Word, pray. Pray that He guides you to what He wants you to read. That your eyes stay open and on His Word. That your heart really takes in what you read. After reading, pray. Thank Him, Praise Him, this is your moment with Him, use it. Take notes. There is something neat about writing down His Word and coming back to it.
Below is the verse that God has been using to bring me back to His Word and what He wanted me to remember.
What has God been reminding you about? What is the verse that clicks for you?
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
